Theatre District Mascot Olympics 2009

The infamous and great annual family event the Theatre District Mascot Olympics will this year take place on Saturday 11th July  in and around the Theatre District.  

It is again part of the Big Moo - MK Family Festival , which this year is on the Theatre District and out into Avebury Boulevard for both the Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July.

The Family Festival includes 2 days of music stage, Emmetts Fair as well as demos, displays, fun and games plus hands on 'have a go' sessions with local clubs, groups and charities. 

This promises to be a huge, fun and interactive event with workshops you can join in including learning ball tricks with the World Record holder Dan Magness, try free running with the MK Parkour team or maybe basketball with the MK Lions.  We also have MK Dodgeball and MK Dons running training sessions, scientific experiements to try at home, you can view the sun with the Astronomy clubs special solar telescopes and even get some help with those awkward models with the MK Scale Model Club. 

There will be hundreds of things to do, try and watch ..... most of which will be free of charge, so really worthwhile coming along and seeing a small sample of what MK has to offer.

On Sunday 12th the main stage is crammed with fantastic bands from London and beyond as well as in the main arena to start the day at 11.30am a local dog obedience display team, who performed at crufts earlier this year.

On the Saturday 11th , the timetable for the main stage /arena is focussed around the Mascot Olympics and local music and talent acts, and is as follows:

We are looking for 10 kids to take part in the penalty shoot out and they will be picked from the crowd, so make sure you make yourself known if you would like to be part of this annual silliness.
